PLASTICS & RUBBER VIETNAM 2008 an OVERWHELMING SUCCESS!

PLASTICS & RUBBER VIETNAM 2008 proved to be a great success amongst the leaders of the local and international plastic and rubber industries, having welcomed 5,517 attendees from 34 countries at the end of its three day run.

The joint collaboration between Bangkok Exhibition Services (a member of Allworld Exhibitions) and Messe Düsseldorf Asia and with the excellent collaboration from local partner, VCCI Exhibition Service Co Ltd., was the successful recipe for the healthy increase in visitor numbers at Vietnam’s largest and most authoritative show dedicated to plastics and rubber.

Featuring some 206 exhibitors from 21 countries, PLASTICS & RUBBER VIETNAM 2008 was opened by Vice Minister Mr. Le Duong Quang from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The show recorded a growth of 80% in the number of participating companies as well as a strong international presence with support from country and regional groups that included Austria, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

Both exhibitors and visitors were reportedly more than satisfied with the outcome of PRV 2008 and the show floor was abuzz with activities with both exhibitors and visitors making full use of the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and focus on the latest in technology through live product demonstrations.

Adding to the positive atmosphere was the sale of machines and equipment and encouraged by the higher visitor turnout and quality of the visitors at the exhibition, exhibitors have shown a robust interest in the upcoming PLASTICS & RUBBER VIETNAM 2010.

Project Manager Christian Kiene from the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber commented keenly on the increase in vistor numbers and reported that exhibitors were very satisfied with the quality of visitorship. He remarked “Starlinger & Co GmbH in particular had made many good contacts and another exhibitor, Cincinnati Extrusion GmbH sold their machine. Overall, the exhibitors see a future market in Vietnam and will definitely return to participate in the next PRV 2010.”

Rosoaria Marinaccio, Head Plastics & Rubber Machinery Sector from the Italian Trade Commission in Ho Chi Minh City said “We are convinced that Italian technology can find a niche in this fast developing Vietnamese market. It is definitely not enough to participate just once so we will be back in 2010 to help Italian manufacturers to make inroads into the Vietnamese market.”

Regional Sales Director (South East Asia) of KraussMaffei Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Prawit Yodprechavigit reported that “KraussMaffei strongly believes that this is the best exhibition to showcase the lastest technology and application in Vietnam simply based on the number of enquiries and orders that we conclude from the industry players.”

David Chan, Managing Director of Arburg Pte Ltd commented “We decided to showcase our machine at this exhibition after a successful show at the last edition. At PRV08, we arehappy to able to demonstrate the qualities of our injection moulding machines to many potential buyers.”

Regional Sales Manager from Nissei ASB Pte Ltd, Yasukazu Mino saw PRV08 as a great opportunity to announce the new set-up of their local office in Ho Chi Minh City. He also reported that they were “pleased to use PRV08 as a platform to establish our brand name as a leading injection stretch blow moulding machine supplier.”

“PLASTICS & RUBBER VIETNAM 2008 serves as a very useful platform for us to reach out to our existing and potential customers in Vietnam. We made many useful contacts during the exhibition and look forward to participating in the next event.” remarked Patrick Wong, Marketing Communications Manager from Borouge Pte Ltd.

The next edition of PLASTICS & RUBBER VIETNAM will be held from 18 — 20 March 2010 at the brand new Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) close to the centre of Ho Chi Minh City.
